Notting Hill Carnival.

When we think of street carnivals, we think of Rio but not a lot of people think of Notting Hill Carnival.

Notting Hill Carnival that is held in London is the second biggest street carnival in the world.Two million people a year frequent the carnival.

It usually takes place in late August and it lasts three days. One of them is the children´s day but the big day is Monday.  On Monday the big parade happens. It has greatly coloured floats and very active dancers that go along a parade route three miles long.

It has got three categories: the masquerade costumes, the steel band, calypso and SOCA which joins Caribbean and African music. So the big deal at Notting Hill Carnival is loud music.
